There are many examples of the transformative power that deep practice has on people's lives.  For instance, many prisons have begun offering contemplative practices such as Centering Prayer, Vipassana and other types of meditation. We don't often hear about the impact of these practices but the results are truly amazing. Some inmates have successfully transformed their prison cell into a monastic cell for deep reflection and inner work. The return rates for prisoners in these programs are remarkably lower than the general population of inmates. These practices serve to reform inmates as functional citizens as well as open their minds and hearts becoming balanced and awakened human beings. A wonderful testament to the transforming power of deep and sustained practice.
