What is the Center for Spiritual Wisdom?

The Center for Spiritual Wisdom is a non-profit organization based in Brevard, N.C. The Center is open to all spiritual seekers and is focused on the teaching of transformational practices that serve people on their spiritual journey.

What is the vision of the Center?

The vision of the Center is to serve as a comprehensive resource for teaching spiritual practices as tools of transformation for the common good. The Center will seek to align its work with God’s loving presence and action in the world.

How does the Center help people in their journey?

The Center promotes compassionate action and transformative growth in relationship to God, neighbor, self, creation, and cosmos through the integration of practice, learning, engagement, and reflection. The Center will emphasize experiential learning through spiritual practices, real-world engagement, peer teaching and other learning methods. The Center helps people integrate the active and contemplative dimensions of life: soul work and justice work, science and spirituality, faith and reason, individual needs and the public good.

What type of practices are offered through the Center?

The Center offers a diverse selection of traditional disciplines that include practices such as Lectio Divina, contemplative prayer, personal learning tools such as the Enneagram, and contemporary approaches such as social justice engagement, eco-spirituality, and sustainable agriculture. The Center also offers one-day workshops, multi-day retreats, ongoing spiritual practice groups and multi-week courses of study. The offerings of the Center will be held in a variety of settings, including colleges, churches, conference centers, etc.
