"In this state of absorbed contemplation, there is no longer any question of holding an object in view; the vision is such that seeing and seen are one; object and act of vision have become identical."

Tension & Fatigue
What is Contemplative Practice Yoga®?
An integrative yoga practice that reduces pain, decompresses tensions in your body and gives you ease of movement. Rather than “stretching” or “strengthening” muscles in the traditional sense. Contemplative Practice Yoga specializes in releasing muscle tension. It focuses on the release of tension in muscles that attach to your spine, both in the front and the back of your body along your spine on each side.
What is unique about this method of yoga?
Contemplative Practice Yoga is a gentle, therapeutically oriented style of yoga, not gym yoga. Your strongest muscles are those that attach to the base of your spine. Tensions in these muscles pull your spine out of alignment, the root cause of much physical discomfort. Once you get this release we teach you move and use your body in ways that decrease overall physical tension, as well as overall mental fatigue, created in part by physical tension.
How does it work?
The release of the tensions in the core of your body creates a corresponding calm in your mind. You naturally enter into a state of greater mental ease and tranquility, hence the name Contemplative Practice Yoga®. In each class or therapy session, you experience ways to take that release and feeling of ease back with you in all that you do, both in physical and mental activity.
What are the benefits of this practice?
The aim of Contemplative Practice Yoga is to teach you how to decrease tensions in your body thereby reducing pain. We will also teach you to have greater ease in movement. Over time, you will learn how to create a daily practice of your own so that you may do yoga when you cannot attend class. You will also learn how to sit, stand, and move while creating as little tension as possible in your body. This will give you a whole new way of being in your body and your life. A life with less tension in your body, ease of movement, and calmness of mind.
