What is the Center for Contemplative Mind in Society? (CMind)

Since 1997, CMind has been a pioneer in developing programs that explore the effectiveness of contemplative practices in Higher Education. CMind organizes and sponsors conferences, retreats, lectures, and intensive workshops, creates and identifies useful resources, and connects like-minded individuals and organizations to help bring contemplative practice to higher education.

What is CMind's Mission?

CMind transforms higher education by supporting and encouraging the use of contemplative practices and perspectives to create active learning and research environments that look deeply into experience and meaning for all in service of a more just and compassionate society.

What is CMind's Vision?

We envision higher education as an opportunity to cultivate a deep personal and social awareness to stimulate inquiry into what is most meaningful to us as interconnected human beings. We seek to recast the traditional foundations for education into a truly integrative, transformative, and communal enterprise that is wholly open and inclusive of all backgrounds and that cultivates each person in the fullest possible way. We envision an education that promotes the exploration of meaning, purpose, and values and seeks to serve our common human future.

What programs and services does CMind offer?

CMind organizes and hosts retreats, conferences, workshops, and webinars on contemplative methods in higher education; identifies and creates resources; and connects individuals and organizations through the Association for Contemplative Mind in Higher Education (ACMHE), a professional association for educators.
