What is Contemplative Light?

Contemplative Light is a community of interfaith spiritual teachers rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition providing resources for beginning and experienced contemplatives, clergy, and spiritual directors for understanding, growth, and healing.

What is the mission of Contemplative Light?

The mission of Contemplative Light is helping contemplatives, leaders, and healers experience and pass on inner wholeness through contemplative teaching and practice. The essence of the mission focuses on Silence, Practice, and Healing. Contemplative Light is open to helping anyone grow spiritually, regardless of personal beliefs, race, cultural background, or sexual orientation.

How does Contemplative Light fulfill its mission?

Contemplative Light offers resources such as teachings, retreats, and practices that drawn from contemplative teachers down through the centuries and across disciplines. These resources include courses on the Contemplative tradition, courses on practice, healing, Christian mystics, and Integral Christianity. Contemplative circles for connecting with others, resources for chaplains and small group leaders, contemplative retreats, and resources for spiritual direction and coaching. Other resources include blogs and social media posts as well as resources for contemplative writers.

What are some examples of contemplative practices offered?

Contemplative practices enable us to quiet down, attune to the spirit and open ourselves to the grace of contemplative prayer. A few examples of the many practices offered include Lectio Divina, Centering Prayer, the Jesus Prayer and the Examen.
